Bunched radishes

Bunched radishes

Very suitable as low-calorie snack

Direct contact

Radish is one of the few vegetables that are grown both under glass and in outside soil, in The Netherlands. The red little tubers have heavy demands to the soil, which particularly shouldn’t be too heavy, and to the expertise of the growers. The growing cycle starts with sowing, which is done by machine. The period of cultivation depends on which part of the year it is, and varies from four weeks during summer up to ten weeks during winter. The growers harvest the radish manually or with machines. In order to avoid direct contact with the product, the harvested radish is directly placed in the end-packaging and rinsed with clean tap water. Radish is very suitable as a low calories snack and a good alternative for coated nuts.
